audio a, pwt, snowboarding, tricaster, and curtis…
Feb 28th

what a great weekend. ski retreat weekend usually takes the most out of every person that participates and this year was no different. there was a lot of work that went down, but there was also a lot of fun. on friday night, we all went skiiing and snowboarding. they replaced the snow with sugar and i bit the dust pretty hard a couple of times (which i am still sore from). some of the other highlights of that night include riding with murphy on the chair lift, that crazy woman that almost took us out, and carsie and his video camera.
saturday morning started with a lot of work. we helped haul in and set up the sound and lights for the audio adrenaline concert. of course we tried to make it as fun as possible. we got to hang out with audio adrenaline some during lunch. they are really cool, down-to-earth guys and it was cool getting to talk with them for a little while. that afternoon i headed back out to the slopes for some more fun. there were a blue million people out there, but i was by myself so i just put on my headphones and rocked out heading down the slopes. then there was the concert. it was awesome. of course i ran around with 57 digital cameras and 47 video cameras in my hands trying to capture every moment, so that one day i could make a great media presentation (yes daniel…media presentation). i told magan that i should have been born with a camera attached to my body. after the concert was done, we tore everything down and set up our sound system and called it a night around 2am.
sunday morning was worship with the pwt. i played bass (when john didn’t change keys of the songs in the middle of the set). daniel tried to help me, but if you know me well, you know that i can’t read lips, so i was lost just hitting a bunch of wrong notes, but it was all good. steve ayers spoke and was great and long-winded as usual. i got to play with carsie’s new toy, the tricaster. all i can say is it is friggin awesome and will definitely get a lot of use this summer. after we got done we packed it all up and headed home. i drove the truck all weekend which was interesting, but fun. i got to spend some time with magan on the way home, which is always good.
i’m already ready for this weekend. i’m headed out to boone this weekend to hang out with magan and some of our favorite people jenni and craig. until then, i have work to do. take it easy…matt
just around the bend
Feb 20th

hay hay everybody. i hope that everyone had a great weekend. i spent the weekend in asheboro at camp caraway. the other interns and i for the 2006 praise and worship team, spent the weekend interviewing people for this summer’s team. it was a good weekend. i got spend a good deal of time with people that i haven’t seen in awhile. me, dave, and our old friend from the first summer, biscuit, got to ride up and back from caraway together, listening to anything from ray steven’s “the mississippi squirrel revival” to sandi patty’s “more than wonderful.” we also spent a lot of time with laura, steve ivey, merrie, and the boys. we got the team picked out for this summer and it looks like it is going to be a great group of people. i also got to see my magan for just a bit this weekend as well as most of the other pwt family.
as far as everything else goes, its going well. i’ve got everything ready for another week of work and i’m ready to get to it. freelancing is still going well and i continue to pray for God to show me the next steps. this weekend i will be headed out to beckley, west virginia to the 2006 NC Youth Ski Retreat. it is going to be an awesome weekend of hanging out with my pwt family, doing some snowboarding, seeing audio adrenaline in concert, and worshipping with 1,200 kids on sunday morning. until then, take it easy and i’ll post later on…matt
exciting times
Feb 8th

hay everybody. i hope everyone has been doing great. things are going great here. i got to spend the weekend with my magan and we had lots of fun as we always do. we really just relaxed and took it easy. we took a little trip down to hickory and did some shopping. then saturday afternoon it started snowing! i felt like winter finally started. on sunday we went out and played in the snow. in three years of being at school there, magan had never played in the snow, so we had lots of fun. even built a little snowman.
work is going really well too. the end of the week and monday were somewhat stressful because i had a big project that was sent off to the printer. it is the first design that i’ve ever sent off to a printer. it was the poster for youth connect 2006. the proof is going to come in tomorrow and i’m really excited to see how it looks printed full size. other than that i’m continuing to work on several websites and doing some other little stuff here and there. those of you pwt peeps, check out this link and you can see a little promo clip i put together for camp this summer. other than that you can check out some new pictures that i posted and check out www.mattkeith.net to see some of the new projects i have completed. later…
oh Ken…
Feb 3rd

yes, we all know and love this wise, funny, and down-to-earth fellow. he is none other than Ken Smith. if any of ya’ll are on ken’s e-mail list, you probably received the e-mail that he sent out a few days ago. i just opened it and at first didn’t know what to think, but before i knew it i was intrigued by what he sent us. i also thought about ken watching this e-mail and just kept laughing. in case you haven’t seen it, click here to check it out.
this week has been pretty good. the beginning of the week was really slow with work, but it picked up as the week went on. this weekend i’ll be headed up to boone to hang out with my magan. i can’t wait. just a weekend of hanging out, relaxin, and probably doing some skiing (they’re calling for snow!) until next time, check out the link and i hope you enjoy it as much as i did. later, matt
