audio a, pwt, snowboarding, tricaster, and curtis…

what a great weekend. ski retreat weekend usually takes the most out of every person that participates and this year was no different. there was a lot of work that went down, but there was also a lot of fun. on friday night, we all went skiiing and snowboarding. they replaced the snow with sugar and i bit the dust pretty hard a couple of times (which i am still sore from). some of the other highlights of that night include riding with murphy on the chair lift, that crazy woman that almost took us out, and carsie and his video camera.
saturday morning started with a lot of work. we helped haul in and set up the sound and lights for the audio adrenaline concert. of course we tried to make it as fun as possible. we got to hang out with audio adrenaline some during lunch. they are really cool, down-to-earth guys and it was cool getting to talk with them for a little while. that afternoon i headed back out to the slopes for some more fun. there were a blue million people out there, but i was by myself so i just put on my headphones and rocked out heading down the slopes. then there was the concert. it was awesome. of course i ran around with 57 digital cameras and 47 video cameras in my hands trying to capture every moment, so that one day i could make a great media presentation (yes daniel…media presentation). i told magan that i should have been born with a camera attached to my body. after the concert was done, we tore everything down and set up our sound system and called it a night around 2am.
sunday morning was worship with the pwt. i played bass (when john didn’t change keys of the songs in the middle of the set). daniel tried to help me, but if you know me well, you know that i can’t read lips, so i was lost just hitting a bunch of wrong notes, but it was all good. steve ayers spoke and was great and long-winded as usual. i got to play with carsie’s new toy, the tricaster. all i can say is it is friggin awesome and will definitely get a lot of use this summer. after we got done we packed it all up and headed home. i drove the truck all weekend which was interesting, but fun. i got to spend some time with magan on the way home, which is always good.
i’m already ready for this weekend. i’m headed out to boone this weekend to hang out with magan and some of our favorite people jenni and craig. until then, i have work to do. take it easy…matt
